Rain was recorded with minimal fuss, with many tracks put down live. This should have made it a quick and easy album to complete, but it has been fighting me for years. The first batch of tunes appeared as ideas which, once recorded, did not work together. Then I recorded a new batch which did work together but, on reflection, did not work at all. Then I wrote some compositions which became two other (not yet released) projects.
I recorded some pieces early last year but then got heavily involved in the two bands I play with. Home, family and other musical commitments effectively paused Spingere until recently.

And now, here we are. Once I had finally decided to stick with an EP of material the music took over and now there is a full length album. Rain is related to Coffee-Housing and Perfetc in its approach and overall sound. Which is to say it will probably sound like dreary, difficult, self-indulgent noise to some. If you like dreary, difficult, self-indulgent noise, or if you liked the other albums, this is for you.

The album title comes from my love of rainy days and the poem ‘Rain’ by Raymond Carver.
